CAD Designer Position


Riverside, California based Railroad Systems Design firm is currently seeking a CAD Designer to work out of our Riverside office. A successful candidate will be responsible for executing drafting projects, such as the preparation of various drawings of track and signal equipment systems derived from layouts and sketches. The CAD Designer will follow established technical specifications to prepare 2D and 3D drawings and performs design drafting. The CAD Drafter will consult with project managers and engineers regarding model accuracy, design, and drafting standards. A successful candidate will also possess the qualifications listed below:

  • Associate Degree in Drafting and Design or equivalent technical degree.
  • Community College or High School Diploma with appropriate technical training and certification. At least 3 years demonstrated experience working with AutoCAD and/or Bentley Microstation.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Bentley Microstation required
  • Proficient in drafting techniques and standards
  • Ability to work with internal and external customers

  • Assist in developing and maintaining company CAD standards
  • Identify and develop CAD macros to improve efficiency
  • Under the direction of a project manager, review and execute submittal requirements and help meet submittal dates
  • Ensure submittal package content is complete and technically accurate
  • Provide customers with excellent service
